well in my connection and NuClearMSN, they both have the ability to get the "my groups list" so you have all the groups that the passport is currently joined to. So i don't see the point in having a searcher for groups.
reason is that it is closing the sockets and when you connect, vinc wants both connected, try and find it in the lookups bit.
also the on part code is incorrect. you don't need the on part and on disconnect code. Vex's code and a timer to keep the socket alive is the only thing you need.

if you have a firewall or you have SP2's firewall enabled, that could be the problem. Firewalls limit the amount of ports open, so if you are running several programs, and try and update, it will most likely get blocked by your firewall.
