u need one of these... if ($1 == PING) { sockwrite -tn $sockname PONG $2- | return } in the sockread from the server.
anytime the connection passes a nickname to mirc, it decodes it first and saves the actual nickname in a hash table. then anytime mirc sends a command to the server, it swaps the decoded nickname with the real one.
if $away is not changing when you go away/back, then there's a problem with your connection because it's not letting mirc know that it's away or back. i give up

look in the room's status window.. are there any lines saying "no such nick/channel" or something like that? try turning off the nuclear theme by typing the command /msn.setup and selecting the 'msn options' tab, and un-checking 'use n...

i havent been working on it much. basically im just making sure it works with the new GUI addons i'm writing. so when there's an update it will probably be released along with those. no telling how long that will be.
