need some advice ... iv seen a few thread on the forum regarding linux and I would like to learn but dont know where to start and I havent a clue what linux is ... does it work with microsoft O/S's and if someone cant explain a little about it or even give me a link I would be grateful

Linux is it's own OS, and is completely different than Windows. It's not made (imo) for your everyday user. Look at this and see what you can make of it.
