looks good, one thing i would recommend though, align everything, don't have your joins alittle off aligned from the text.

I don't like the word wrap at all because it doesn't align with any of the text.

Personally, I don't like the alignment gap as I'd prefer truncated text to empty spaces but others will probably think otherwise.

Not bad but maybe you could change one thing. If I try to use the theme i lose timestamps which i like to keep on

timestamps maybe i'll work on. as for aligning the word wrap, yeah i'd like to see it align with the beginning of the message too. unfortunately, mIRC's echo command seems a little retarded or something, since the -i switch won't indent anything more than like 25 spaces. if there's another way to do that that anyone knows of, let me know tongue.gif as for the offset on joins and such, i think that will probably stay because i like to see 'info' distinct from 'messages.'

Bah I told you something wrong on messenger about 10 minutes ago. For 5.4 the bug is when stealth mode is checked not /who. Sorry bout that.

There is nothing so absurd but some philosopher has said it

Well I've finally gotten ClearMSN 6 (codename NüClear tongue.gif ) underway... and it's funny how i'm running into things that I already got past in ClearMSN but now they're confusing me again, lol. But everything seems to be going fairly smoothly, considering that it's a total rewrite, and a completely different type of connection. Joins will be like ten times faster now, and there will be other advantages to it also, that i won't mention here.

But I do need some opinions about options to be included. Basically, there will be no built-in channel protection (script alarm, nonsubscriber kick, etc.) but they will be ridiculously simple to add. There will also be no "stealth" mode, and maybe I will leave out the ability to clone nicknames. What I am wondering is basically:

1. Should I make the control dialog with MDX to make it easier to use?

2. Should the flood protection be a single option that covers all floods or should there be separate options for protection against different floods?

If you have any suggestions about other things you don't see in ClearMSN now that you would like to see, or things that are in ClearMSN that you think should be left out, let me know because this is the time to let me know what you think. I'm trying to make the next ClearMSN the easiest to use and the only connection that's been built to suit its users.

1) Yes. User-friendliness is always good.

2) First one if you want more speed & less coding but otherwise second one.

Get it to make cappuccinos too. Of all the coffees & coffee machines that come with PCs, I've never seen a cappuccino maker dry.gif

I already love ClearMSN. Can't hardly think of anything else at this point, lol. However, I'll try to come up with some suggestions if I think of any. I like the idea of making one protection that covers all floods, though, and I hope you keep the automatic groups find. That is an awesome feature you have for ClearMSN. Also, I see you said that connecting to rooms would be ten times faster. It is already fast, lol. Can't wait to see version 6 in action. As always, awesome work, Vexation. smile.gif

go back to basics, just have it really as a straight connection, and yes /clone should be included. Reason i never used ClearMSN in GuarDDog was because of the protections it had, i would prefer a full on MSN Connection, and not a connection with protections. Flooding should just be avoided by the scripter, and not by the connection. A good scripter knows how to avoid flooding, but maybe you could put it so that the connection wont D/C in a flood when a lot of onjoin commands are in place. good example is by running it through GuarDDog. Well that's provided it gets off the ground with it. Turn on all protections possible, and use ClearMSN in it, get some git to flood the room, and see if it stays in or not, and that is with all the protections working. If it does, then that is good, if not, well there you have it, try and make the connection not d/c.

/clone should be removed , then idiots cant abuse it , also make it so they cant add it from previous versions

My code does NOT have bugs. It just develops random features.

ozzy i think i will remove clone, and since the updaters work well, i think i will force users to use the msnregcookies in chats, that way they can only use the nickname they're registered with. as for adding it in from previous versions, the coding in v6 is already completely different. not just the way it's arranged but the way it works entirely is totally unlike previous versions (and unlike any other connection i've seen, really).

Ive only been using ClearMSN 5.4d for a few days now and I'm already dedicated to it. I was using vincula ezr1 and I had problem after problem with it (no offense to gwen, maybe I wasnt coding my scripts properly) anyway I patiently await the new release and I really think the removal of /clone would be a good idea...too many people use that to be a pain and it gets really aggrevating.

Thanks for the excellent connection!
