i apologize if this is a dumb question but i really cant find the answer anywhere.

can you get in trouble with msn for using clear msn?

i asked this on the mirc forums and they said they thought you could and it was against the TOS. but since there are msn groups for mirc scripts to get into msn chats...i wasnt really sure.

id really rather use clear msn rather than the web-based msn chat to talk in my msn group...but i dont want to get the group im apart of in any trouble.

thanks!

msn doesn't really care. it isn't technically against the TOS, the TOS only says msn will not provide support for 3rd party clients. it isn't against the rules to use them, you just cant bug msn staff with questions about them. but msn will ban you if you enter an msn-controlled room and it comes to their attention that you are using a script.

thanks! so i guess i'll go ahead and use it. the only msn room i use is the one in an msn group i was just worried because they've picked on this group before...but i guess they wont really know im using a script then.

well thanks again!

I know of at least one of the MSN Chat admins who use a 3rd party client at home to chat on msn during their spare time. So I see it this way: If they get to, why can't we?

err0r: 666 + 1337 = 2003 backwards is 3002 which is how many people ozzy has banned from tg
err0r: spooky

sounds like a good enough reason to me
