what broser are you using???

mozilla

mozilla is netscape based msn chat dosent run on netscape/mozilla because of activex restrcitions...........

so since linux has no active x type set up u cant chat on msn using linux??

basicly no not unless u can get IE going on it... im not sure but i dont think linux could execute the chat control u would have to ask ziggy about that but as far as i know msn chat dont work on linux closest u will get is msn chat going on Mac with IE

cool thanks for the help...i got my browser to identify itself as ie but its really konqueror but still no go just get a red x

change mozilla to identify as netscape , then go to the chatroom and it will say a message saying you need a file for netscape, click the link download and install it.

Then go in chat.

Mozilla/firefox/netscape and internet explorer all work in msn chat

My code does NOT have bugs. It just develops random features.

ozzy linux dosent use tmporary internet files it uses the /tmp which the chat control cant read because it used to c:\windows\Downloaded internet files or whatever its called which isnt in linux so its on reason why it wont go ....

Download an application called Wine (runs Windows apps) then use mIRC

Here is the page for running ie with wine in linux http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=25 or if you got the money you can use this http://www.codeweavers.com/. I always wined ie had some dll problems trying to run irc with vincula. Some dll errors, probably the dll's vincula used but I dont remember. I was told at one time there was a script around that was for linux but who knows linux does have several irc cleints though.

thanks dread now all i need is a lil bit a free time lol

using my new connection (nüclearmsn) you can chat on msn in linux, as long as you're running mIRC with WINE. no need for the ocx or to even have IE installed at all. only bug reported with it on linux is a minor glitch in the room lister.
