Running a script off desttop

im using hybrid ,which to me is the best script made

ive downloaded and tried just about all them and in my opinion ,i like the way hybrid is set up easy access to menus and easy to use. and i love the access.ini.

so does my webtv members,they can kick other webtv as well as computers

cracks me up when someone new comes in room an starts to diss on one of them thinking,"they on webtv,what can they do"

and the only prob i have is a on join flooding issue,but not even the 3 other new scripts i tried handled it very well. actually hybrid stayed connected longer then the other 3 did before freezing and disconnecting,but i think that was the vincula an mrc settings (i am not sure ) i wasnt on line today to try Gwens new code out to see if it will work.

but every script i have tried in past has connected worked and had no errors.

GREAT JOB TO THOSE WHO BUILD THEM ALL, i have used 90 some percent of them all this summer. ( has no life)

so my question, i have script folder on desttop an have Mirc pinned to start,

does that make any differnce? then having it in c drive?

the only thing i notice is the ascii and drawings i have made and downloaded wont work unless they are in c drive folder which i put it there and made the code for the switch to choose them to go dirrectly to that folder to make them work.

other then that script works fine, i probably answered my own question.

but anyone that wishes to comment

if the creator coded the script correctly, it should have no problems, but what some creators forget to do, or do not attempt to do is make it so that it can work in directories with spaces. The majority don't have the problem, only the minority. So the answer would be no in most cases, there would be no problems, but if there is a problem, you would be better off just moving the folder back to c drive, and making a shortcut to it. Pretty much the same. And instead of making the shortcut of the folder, just make the short cut of the mIRC icon itself.

i agree with gatekeeper, flooding on join? sad even vincula would prevent that

*posts his script bluelite* with *$limegreen.by.kaz* connection which by the way dosent flood easy infact, i kicked a passport flooder on join 'join flood protection for more then 5 joins in 3 seconds IT ALSO BANS' unfortunly msn closed my passport so dunno if im going to be on for a while, 'subinfo still works for like 2 weeks after passport was closed, IF U UPDATE EVERYDAY B4 CLOSE'

the only time i actually flood is when i used my timer banlist and like 40 banlisted people hopped so it goes from 'Kick not enought perimetrs' to 'KICK $chan %bannick :Lost Connection 'Kick topowerful' which only has flooded about 3 times TOTAL and thats about it, and my connection is doing way more then that . E.G accessing my gate, ONJOIN 'original kick besides timer' Checking for clones

'mandatory' onjoin of course. which means im checking that user for clones PLUS kicking PLUS seeing if im a channel operator(o/q) PLUS onjoin banlist kick

of course, im not really going to post, no sence. besides every 1 figures msn is changing chat in to java chat 'So says microsoft' in December (even tho thats a cupple months away)

if u cant make your own script of course u would figure a downloadded script is Wonderful, im sure err0r will agree, there are way better scripts then hybird, *States that most other scripts dont flood when a user joins*

and if so id like to check it out,im going to see if its anywhere to download, sounds like something i need, im having major issues with people who seem to think they control who can chat where,i didnt start this with them but i paid my retarted fee to chat and no one will push me around that easy,

im also considering making a protection script that

will just consist of the onjoin protection only. i think i know enough bout this to do that at least.

see my prob is i like the welcome sounds knocks messages to previous nicks rooms their also in, last time they visited room, webtv version displayed in room, ect ect ect,...and all the games games games

im sure having all that on is why i get flooded so easyly,

script didnt leave or disconnect just cant kick them or even set room to invite upon being flooded.my log stated it was flooded for 16 min straight.

About your flooding out issue. Even with vincula you shouldn't be flooding out. Try changing the mirc flood settings.

In top menu bar click on:

View

Options

IRC (double click it to open all the choices)

I found that came on too often, so increased it in EZR to:

One note, I'm not sure which version, but there is an edited vincula around that the flood protection isn't working on correctly. In the correctly working vincula, it will auto set the flood settings in mirc when its loaded..but that one version, it failed to do that. I can't remember which one it was though. So maybe check if yours turned on the mirc flood settings correcly, as there is no reason for you to be flooding out so easily..

my connection speed is only 26.5k slow farm lines..and I took a full attack from 3 nick changers in my room changing nicks for 20 minutes without flooding.

In comment to all that assume banning guests is the answer, if a webbie cant afford a computer or just dont know how to use one and is content chatting on webtv

60 percent of my friends have webtv and my room is one of the few rooms that will allow them in,

im not going to ban webtv because of a childess flooder,thats not fair to them

see my room has more people in it then theirs does simpley because we keep out the drama pervs.ect

and its a nice place to come and chat and have fun,

they are attempting to ruin that, they have been all summer,its just now they found a way to clone webtv's gate

their rooms consists of scripters only who take pride in ruining others fun.

banning webtv even if i did,they still use a passport flood also.

if no flood protection can react fast enough then

what i prob need is a code that will upon flooding will turn off all accesss to room

and turn off the room knocks to keep script from flooding out.

im attempting to make that code myself.

im getting flooded every day i open room,so if anyone is interested in have flood codes tested post them here and ill try them .

also i am not dealing with just a simple flooder this guy (i know who it is) is in up

to 40 rooms all the time with various scripts and msn accounts,he also has friends

that are msn room moderators, ( coldstalker comes in handy ) and if he becomes banned from a room,he takes it personal and has no prob flooding and causing distress ,other rooms just let him in because they dont want him ruining their room,and know msn wont do anything to him,seems he has been doing this for a long time,and hasnt been banned yet, he upon one time wanted to set up his bot in my room which i said no, and it wont happen.

it would sicken you to know what he says to girls ............
