it's a rumor which has been floating around for over a year, i really doubt they will.

i agree with GK, MSN Groups wil not go to pay, if they do, then msn will just go down the drain, really quick.

the full paying restrictions they have now are more then they need. logically thinking in a corperate company thinking lie msn they dont need to make groups pay so the rumors going round about it are false

Kinda makes you wonder though - why charge people to use MSNChat when the same software is used elsewhere on the same site for free?

Sure, a chatroom's more likely to have people to meet in them but nothing's there to stop people joining groups.

MSN makes about as much sense as Windows with their financial decisions.

groups arnt as publically known as msn chat was, thus its just hiding the spamming the pedophiles in those which msn has less control over.

Lets face it , there is no helpdesk for groups , you have to use email and then they dont offer much support for the actual chatrooms in the groups all they have done is shift a problem they had in chat into groups, so it wouldnt suprise me if groups were the next thing to go paid.

i been hearing this rumor for a long time my self. i talked to a few ppl i know that work for msn and they siad they dont know anything about..i wouldnt put to much stock in it...then again with msn anything is possible

ps. they made main lobbies payed.....yet afterhours and ca rooms anyone can get in go figure...........

Rumour also has it, MSN's only free chatrooms atm (Canadian) are due to become paid for...ie close. And i heard this from ALOT of ex MSN Staff members being ex staff myself.

Both of these rumours have both been going since chat went paid.Cant really believe rumours.

Should dispel any question. Besides, when I first heard the rumour, it was from "someone who works in microsoft" and they said it would happen in february. Well here we are. Its always a good idea to backup EVERYTHING IMPORTANT TO YOU anyways.

I recon its aload of bullox cause i hear tha stupid rumour a week after chat went to subscription Only. Even if they did goto Subscription Only im very sure they will annouce it Well in advanced

I agree with pretty much everyone that it's not gonna happen but that MSN Groups Support Inquiry reply has me a little blah, i'm pretty sure most feel as i do that they don't really "value" their customers nor give a (expletive deleted) about their happiness levels with their products. I personally like their service, i just hate the way everything's all "pretty", i guess i just prefer the classic windows themes. in my opinion, if you decorate a socket wrench then the decoration's just gonna get in the way, rendering the socket wrench a little more difficult to be as useful, no different with MSN's pages, the decorations and lil gimick like features are simply distractions and at times makes it difficult to use some features properly. In the great words of Dennis Miller, "But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong." And i just noticed how late i am to reply to this, hehe.
