Using scripts on other chat networks

I have been out of the chat scene for a long time, but when MSN closed, a lot of us went to a place called NSM chat. It's almost exactly like MSN but you dont have to pay for it. I had a script from when I was using MSN and I was wondering if it could be updated to run in another network. At the moment I'm having trouble finding much about other networks and scripts/bots. Any help?

There are many chat networks that are like MSN but they are ILLEGAL Might i suggest to goto http://www.chatsusa.com To connect to their server in mirc use

damn lol i tried to find that file but i couldnt so yea theres the file to download but remember we dont support MSN Cloned Servers. Diamond_Dust If you require help might I suggest you ask the owners of MSN on instructions on how to connect etc.

I wanted to let people know that after an extensive research regarding so called cloned msn chats using the Msn chat control or OCX as some may know it, It is registered as freeware which sets it in the category as being "Free To Use"! The ONLY illegal aspect of it would be removing licenses or trademarks or anotherwords trying to claim it as your own!

Therefore it is NOT illegal to use the Msn Chat OCX since in actuality, it is the user(chatter) that is using the Msn Chat OCX no matter what chat network you prefer to use that supports it! I am sure in time that microsoft(Msn) will have to utilize some security measures or better programming to prevent them from others being able to use them on other chat networks but that is up to Msn!!!

Chat Networks that support their Own OCX for webchat or even IRCd servers will be the ones that will prevail over this Free Chat Network agenda and Im sure places like Chats USA will be around for many years to come unlike places that are using Msn's OCX!!!

Thank you for the replies! However, Im not trying to start a mass debate on the legalities of chat. Our comm loved MSN, but when they decided to charge everyone to chat, we decided to move elsewhere because in my opinion and the opinion of everyone I've met so far, it's robbery to ask us to pay. Anyways, that is neither here nor there. Thank you for the links to scripts that will work on the network...Ijust hope that I can get back in the scene of things.

P.S. Dude read MSN's terms of use. I would say that is the best source. Unless you want to name some sources from your "research".

As previously stated but perhaps not spelled out completely, the reason why the MSNChat OCX is "freeware" is because the OCX itself is distributed for free use. However, it is designed for exclusive use on MSNChat.

It's like grabbing a free Argos (store's) catalogue and using the same catalogue numbers in your own store. The catalogue, much like MSNChat's OCX is free to use but is designed specifically for one company; use in any other way can be classed as illegal.

Just out of curiosity, how DID the topic get so way off base when all I was asking for was help on a script to use in another network besides MSN??
