non connection to msn

message keeps coming up unable to connect to server(connection refused)

What connection script are you using? Also, you have to make sure your passport is up to date.

i have been using guarddog for about 9 months never had any problems but with recent upgrages or whatever to msn groups this has now occured.

I cant log guarddog in.

everything has remained the same cos was using oke till yesterday etc.

guard dog goes through the routine passport stuff user name etc all ok but no connection. has msn changed something??

You have set your nick in vincula options before you try to join.

to see if that helps now i get motd file missing

everything else seems to be there

i willhave to remove a complete room shorlty if i cant get this sorted

The motd file is missing shouldn't stop the script from connecting. The "MOTD" is the "Message of the Day" file that the server itself gives if it has it. I don't think msn ever does. Also, you will need to update the "MSNRegCookie". If you are using Vincula type in /msn.getcookie. After you get your msnregcookie it should be able to connect then.

P.S.: You might also need to add your subscriberinfo to it as well. I know that in the past Vincula was set up to where you would need to have your subscriberinfo as well in order to join groups.

there has to be something else wrong cos there is no connection to msn room

this is a non paying service

so i wonder if they have done something here

Okay, sometimes you have to update the msnregcookie as well, even if there is something in there already. Did you recently try to reupdate the msnregcookie?

warrior, we are talking GD4 series. GD4.3 was reuploaded to my server, so please redownload it, http://guarddog.agapechildproject.org

It does retrieve regcookies this time [which is the cookie line], so if your having problems, i can't really be sure why. Try Vincula Options > reset .ocx files and then restart the lookups and it should work. Note: you should give it around 30 seconds before restarting the lookups.

Hey Gate Keeper.

I downloaded the GuarDDog 4.3, and tried it out. I tried to create a room, but it keeps resetting the main connection, and doesn't join the room.

P.S.: I even tried resetting ocx, and such but still get the same results.

i am trying to connect to the free msn chat service

i have used guarddog without problems until the last 2 days

i have 2 separate pcs running in 2 diferent rooms

had no problems till now

something is wrong it may be me

Warrior, i know that GD4 doesn't create rooms, old vincula, that is the problem.

other ppl who have used guarddog as well before from my group

cant join as well

so it is not only me

i think its msn

it wont join on either of my puters and i run 2 separate dogs

looks like i will have to get a cat instead woof woof meow

further to the above i have dl the dog into my home about 250 times and never had a problem

but there is now and the old version wont run either

one thing of interest the msn details have never come up before on screen so something must have changed

rants, i put up a GD4.4 to solve some of the issues that was occuring. But you will need to tell me if it gets the userrole or not. If it doesn't i'll have to look into it. But i don't see where the problem could be, but then again i don't join group rooms anymore with GD4 so i'm not to sure.

EDIT: i tested it, and i see why it never worked, so it's working in GD4.4 now, please download the new GD4.4 to resolve this issue.

arr, probably be wise if you get stuck to redownload it again because the problem i thought i fixed wasn't fixed the first time i uploaded it, so i've fixed the problem now, it should join the group rooms fine and regcookies for each group room is held as well as the userrole.

its working now i have managed to connect to rooms thanku very much

my whole kids room project for wellbeing was in the balance

but the cat made the dog jump and it seems to be fixed now

i did make a difference after all

and i am thankfull it wasnt me cos i am not good at picking errors up

but there u go i am real happy now

and u know all i need it for is to kick ppl out of the chat room when it is not moderated
