Error with Vincula NGen

I found a error when you update your user role and when you join a group room.

* Invalid parameters: $did (line 1247, vincula.mrc)

And this is line 1247

echo $color(info2) -at UserRole Update For $did(%msn.setupname,6).seltext Complete.

If anyone is having problems with NGen, please post them. Otherwise, they can't be fixed/ I'm working on an update right now which will be out soon. However, I need to know the problems you are having in order to fix it.

Thanks, Molson, for letting me know about that problem. It will be fixed in the update which will be ready in a day, or so.

Alias, the Europe connection is a bit more complicated since it is a connection issue, and I've never actually coded a connection, before. It might not be fixed in the update coming in a day, or so, but I'll try to see what I can do about it.

I've found a strange one. Text is displayed fine from ops, but text from a non-op is preceeded with my passport password!

For example, a normal line should look like

[00:17] <Jimmy> hello Bro

[00:17] <my_passwordJimmy> hello Bro

The problem happens at line 3327 of the script:

if (%p == $left(%n,1)) unset %p

After the 'unset' the variable %p, when used in an echo, displays my password.

As an experiment I changed the line to

if (%p == $left(%n,1)) %p = $left(%p,0)

and then things displayed properly.

This same thing occurs in a few other places in the script. I'm sure it's not happening for you because you would have seen it. I'm still on mIRC 6.12 in case that has a bearing on it.

At any rate, if no one else is having this issue I'll just fix my local copy and there's no need for you to do anything, but I felt I should at least report it.

then when i enter my groups name i got

Np, in the next update couldn't you just make the popups like old vincula there kinda confusing on the new one im like looking around for ages tranna find join recent rooms an all that lol

Sorry, Gazzy. The last person/people to edit this file before me stripped it bare, lol. I had to add what popups you see now. I'll try to add more.

By the way, your suggestion concerning the chat.msnw thing got me to thinking, and I took out the .msnw. Now, it should connect to all chats. It connects to Aliases room just fine, now. A BIG thanks for the help.

Before I make NGen 1.5 available I'd like to make sure all the errors are taken care of. So far, I've fixed all the errors that were reported. If anyone finds anymore errors please post them, and I'll take care of it asap. Thanks to all of you for your help.

That's a very good question, Danger. Unfortunately I can't answer that, but I'll try to find the answer for you if I can

Okay, I'm going to wait for another day before releasing the update to do more testing, and also hopefully to get input of other errors that others may find. So, if you are getting any other errors that haven't been posted, please post them asap. Here is what I've done so far.

1. Fixed the error message that was showing during update of userrole.

2. Fixed the problem it was having with joining certain groups rooms.

3. The FAF for Vincula wasn't working correctly. So, I took it out, and added cOld stalk3r V2. It works alot better.

4. Added the choice of either using the regular whisper window, or whisper boxes instead. The whisper boxes shows the status of each person that messages you, or whenever you send a message.

5. Edited the commands to work on certain servers. Password change, and such won't be seen on the Groups server.

So far, everything seems to be working great. However, please let me know of any other errors that might exist, and I'll fix them asap, or at least try, lol. I'd say NGen 1.5 will be ready by tomorrow.

This one seems harmless. I think it's because I have not joined any groups.

It happens during passport update, and possibly on startup also.

yea for what nickyZ posted, you should use an if statement to check if there is anything in there first, before trying to do a loadbuf.
