Thats a pretty obsolete way of doing it. Personally it's better this way:

if (%kickprot [ $+ [ $chan ] ] = on) {
kick $chan $nick no kicking please
}

Alternatively:
on *:kick:%kickchans:{ msg $chan $knick was kicked... }
Set (for example) %kickchans in the form %#channel1,%#channel2,%#channel3 etc
