Hello All,

As i'm sure, many before me have asked these questions before (ahem..i asked them a few times) but i've still not seen any solution to them

1) How can i get vincula to kick "Long" nick floods...when ever there's a long nick flood in a room i own..i get the following message in my status window

*No such Channel/Nick..I asked about and i was told mIRC can't read long nicks..so i'd need to get my flood protection to kick using something like "Sockread", something i'm unfortunatly not very good at, i've tried both "raw" and "sockwrite" to try and kick them but it never worked

2) Is there a code available to read the profiles of all the members in the room, using -echo and kicking any one who's not 18+

E.x:

Me : @ScanPUID

Script : nick1 [20]

Script : nick2 [19]

Script : nick3 [15]

Access added deny nick3: Underage

Script kicked nick3 : Underage User Found

Script : nick4 [30]

...etr.

And about the long nicks..i DO add deny to them, but sometimes the deny access gets cleared..so i need to be able to kick them when it is cleared.

;P.S. i use Vincula as my connection to msn

Ignorance Is Bliss

just ban the long nicks

put this into your remotes

menu channel {
Ban Long Nicknames : access $chan add deny $str(?,50) $+ *@*$* 0 :Long Nick Ban
}

That will make sure that vincula can kick those with long nicks, and those that it can't kick, well they are banned.

or just add a timer to add the deny , i got one to add deny on long nicks and guest every 5 mins

thanks to both of you for replying..but as i explained before

@ gate keeper, the access gets cleared alot..and i just want to know if it actually IS possible to kick long nicks, if so, then i will just need to go threw every connection ever made and see what they did to kick *-)

@Seph, I tend to be in over 20 rooms at a time, and running a timer for each room + the timers that i usually have running would just cause me to lag even more, That's why i was hoping for a code to actually kick them.

And any idea about the profile thing ?!!

Ignorance Is Bliss

hmm look in the old post, i think there was a topic on how to kick long nicks..

Ok, I'll do that...but any one out there know anything about the profile scan i'm talking about

Ignorance Is Bliss

you could change your connection to NuClearMSN. It is similar to Vincula, but more up to date, and can cope with some of the newer problems like long nicknames.

not sure, but this works for me, Can't hurt to try

Open access list and add deny

??????????????????????????????????????????????????*!*@*$*

I don't get long Names or Numbers in my room

@The Gate Keeper; I've tried Nuclear before, but the problem with it, is it isn't as stable as Vincula..not to me that is....I've tried some of the long floods that seem to be spearing pritty fast between MSN users, and it just couldn't handle it, Vincula in the other hand was able to "survive" the flood but couldn't kick them..giving me the error *No such Channel/Nick" in my status

@Eaglenest25311; As i've explained before, The deny access in my rooms are usually cleared for some reason, and having a timer in all of them would lag me more than having vincula kick the long nicks, But thanks for trying (Y)

If the long nick kicker turned out to be "Undoable" then has any one got anything for the profile scan i mentioned before ?!...

And again...I am using Vincula which means the scan would need to be able to function with vincula.

Thanks again to all whom tried to help..much appreciated (F)

@The Gate Keeper; There's a rumer that your "Guard-Dog" script which uses vincula is capable of kicking long nicks, I've not tried Guard-Dog my self so i am not sure if this is true or not, But if it was, could you tell me how you did it, What parts needed to be change, and what parts needed to be added..

the GuarDDog that i am currently working on does not use Vincula but a connection i made called DogCollar. It has a similar feel to Vincula though. And yes it is capable of wipping out a long nick flood if it occurs. Note: the GuarDDog i'm working on is GD5 not the currently released GD4.4

GD5 will be launching by 2010
