i've been having problems with someone flooding my room with spec'd nicks . is there a code to stop this ? spec kicks and guest flood protection seem to be of no use against them

on @!1:JOIN:#: {
 if (%psflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ]) { sockwrite -n msn.server. $+ $cid kick $hget(msn. $+ $cid,fullroom) $nick :Passport Flooding | return }
 inc -u1 %ppflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ]
 if (%ppflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ] == 3) {
   set -u5 %psflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ] true
   sockwrite -n msn.server. $+ $cid access $hget(msn. $+ $cid,fullroom) add deny *!*@*$* 1 :Passport Flooder $crlf $&
     kick $hget(msn. $+ $cid,fullroom) $addtok(%prflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ],$nick,44) :Passport Flooding
 }
 elseif (%ppflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ] < 3) set -u3 %prflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ] $addtok(%prflood. [ $+ [ $chan ] ],$nick,44)
}

try this.

Will that work in long rooms?

Custom Computer

Asus M2N-SLI MOB

NVidia GeForce 8400GS 256

no, there is really no real protections that are out that will work sufficiently enough to do it, i have done a pretty big code in GD5 which can handle it a bit better in longer rooms, but it requires to much coding to work it.

Well I found this one tested it in a long room and worked well.

#passportflood on
on @!*:join:#:{
 set -u2 $+(%,#) $eval($+(%,#),2) $nick
 if ($numtok($eval($+(%,#),3),32) > 6) {
   sockwrite -tn msn.server* kick $msn.get($cid,fullroom) $replace($eval($+(%,#),2),$chr(32),$chr(44)) : Passport Flood
   sockwrite -tn msn.server* access $msn.get($cid,fullroom) add deny *!*@*$* 6 : Flood Protect
   unset $+(%,#)
 }
}
#passportflood end

I know this isn't code, but for MSN Chat, the easiest way to stop a user from join/part flooding your room is to ask HelpDesk to monitor your room. They'll use BattleBot to set a ban in your room as soon as they detect the flood. The ban will be something like *!*@24.???.* but that's still better than having to use *!*@*

Then, when you see the flood has been stopped (the flooder will be killed by a sysop bot) check your access list and save the partial IP address for future floods so you can use it again (if needed).

ya it will help.. but if they are on dial up it will be useless .. msn should just get off thier asses and deny specs altogether..... a week ago i noticed if u join part to fast in msn rooms , its an auto kill for 10 mins lol. that will stop msn runned rooms from being flooded atleast
