My Computer>>C drive>>Windows???????????
C:\Windows\system
Well Spit
, I still cant access any MSN Chat or MSN Group chat, I cant find the Chat Control in Tool>>Internet Options>>Settings>>View Objects,, any Ideas? Also everything seems to "Hang" (pages loading/replies/ect, ect) I'm begining to wounder if its time to do a re-install?? ![]()
go to my computor
c drive
windows
downloaded program files
right click on msn chat control 4.5
and click remove
now reboot ya comp and try get in room
this should force your comp to download the chat control again
and enable you to get in the room.
My code does NOT have bugs. It just develops random features.
Thanks Younger Ozzy Git <snickers> ![]()
thats the problem,, There is No Chat controal in there, and I go to my rooms/Groups and no Download prompt window comes up,
,, I think sumptin is wrong ![]()
check in system and syastem32 folders too
and make sure your script isnt reging another ocx

clear history, clear cookies then visit this link
http://exonyte.dyndns.org/msninst.php?vers=45
it will do the same as you visiting an msn chat room for the first time. If the link above doesn't work, just clear history and cookies again, and attempt to access the chat room from the normal url that you access the chat room with.
you might not know this gatekeeper but that link dosent give me the chat download,, its just a pic of the smilie face and text, theres no mouse over
Ozzy I cant find any chat control in eaither sys or sys32,, so I guess I'm screwed,, I cant access any MSN chat at all, and cant even download the OCX,, any ideas why that is? ![]()
did you even try what the other thing i said?
anyways
do you have a script on your comp, if you do, and vincula is on it, type /msn.resetocx wait like 30 seconds, and then close bot, don't open it again, and then attempt to join chat, otherwise, i'm not sure why you would not have the chat control because only bots stuff it up.
open a script and after its been open about 10 seconds type /msn.msnocx
if you have the normal msn ocx , this will register it so you can join chat.
My code does NOT have bugs. It just develops random features.
if you have tried all the above and its still not working then it could be to do with the registry so you could try this:
1, Clear cookies and history,
2, Backup your registry,
3, Search for msn chat and or chat ocx in the registry,
4, Delete them and make sure there is no reference to chat control anywhere in the registry,
5, Restart your pc and try installing it again,
Maybe worth a try rather than doing a re-install which seems a little ott.
Thanks Gate,, Yes I did the other things you said
LOL
I have no script on my Sys and only Viper but havent used it since MSN went pay per view, I did load Sercencer V1, but removed it, maybe thats the problem that script changed the OCX and when I removed it it took the ocx with it???
Umm dont know,, all I'm trying now is just useing basic web chat
Thanks xtrax, Guru posted that in MSN Chat Team,, I followed that also, I guess I'll go load Vincular and try to registar an OCX that way
delete any msnchat45.ocx and msnchatx.ocx from your system (do a search for all), then visit this page http://www.webagent007.org/ocx/msnchat450.html
You should get a download prompt before you can see a smileyface, if you do see a smileyface before the download prompted you didnt remove all the msnchat ocx'es.
If that doesnt work then simply download the latest ocx manually: http://fdl.msn.com/public/chat/msnchat45.cab (UNZIP OFFCOURCE!!!!)
-save the MSNChat45.ocx in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
-type following in run "regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSNChat45.ocx"
-you should get a succeeded message
-CLOSE AND REOPEN ALL BROWSERS! (verry important, or it still dont work)
-enter chat
