What is the different with an IRCD server and IRCX if both of then allow mIRC clients to chat on it. and what type is the one use by MSN ???

 

I thought to ask about this just to know which one is better bash.gif

Msn use a edited type of IRCx Server

IRC(d) is the original protocol that was build, IRCx are extensions to the original protocol created by Microsoft.

Ircx has got a control panel so that other admins can change modes and add opers as ircd hasnt got a control panel only person running it can change stuff

I think people confuse IRCx with IRCXpro. One is extensions to a protocol and the other is a software. You mean IRCXpro, that has a control panel, not IRCx. As for IRCd theres always SSH access to server.

IRCX is an extension to the protocol defined by RFC 1459 (the Internet Relay Chat protocol), not a server that also has a remote (you also say the converse is true -- a server without a remote is not IRCX -- this is in fact not true, because Exchange, ignitionServer, and Tes-X are all IRCX, but don't have a remote).

I gave up trying to make a server to use the MSN ocx. two reasons, The original servers that allowed the use of MSN Chat are not supporting it anymore. And i dont want my website closed down by microsoft / MSN for ILLEGAL USE OF THE MSN CHAT CONTROL + OCX
