Well, since its pretty hard for first timers to get into msn group chat rooms and/or subscription rooms, I'd thought I'd put the steps here to benefit you people and give instructions on how to get the required things to get into chat.

NOTE: THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE BASED ON mIRC. USE THEM ON OTHER FILES AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Steps to get into Group Chat

Introduction: MSN Group chat is all msn chat rooms enabled in the groups that MSN provides. They are all free and are just like the old MSN chat rooms. Your scripts/bots can still enter them, just like they did the old rooms, but this requires you to do a bit of work to get your scripts/bots into the msn group chat rooms.

Steps:

1 ] Make sure you meet the following requirements before attempting to join the room:

                    i) Your bots passport must be a member of the group

ii) These instructions are based on IE6, so it is best you have IE6

iii) The user role will give you your hammer depending on the status you are listed, if you are manager, you will be auto owner, assi. manager, host, member, normal member.

2 ] Use your normal MSN passport for this part. Make sure someone is in the group room you wish to join, do this by joining the room yourself. If someone is in the room, sign out and go to step 4, else continue to the next step.

3 ] If no one is in the group room besides yourself, leave that internet window up, and start a new internet window. Go to msn, sign out, and sign into your bots passport.

4 ] You may notice that if you sign out, and straight back in, you may sign back into your default passport, just sign out again, and sign back in. This most likely wont happen but there is a possibility of it happening.

5 ] Once in your bot's passport, go to the group chat room. If you continued from step 3 there should be just your normal msn passport, and your bot passport that you are currently viewing at that present moment. If you jumped step 3, you should be in the room with 1 or more other users besides your bot. If either of these are right, continue, else go back to step 1.

6 ] On the window that has your bot in the room, move the mouse so that it is in the yellow section under the text entrance area [ next to the chat options ]. Right click and then click view source.

7 ] A text file of some sort should show with coding in it. This coding is where you will find the required code to enter chat. This code is called the user role.

8 ] In this text file, use the find feature, for notepad, click edit, then find.

9 ] A dialog will appear, in the edit box, type in >RenderChat

10 ] This should lead you to a line with coding in-between two brackets [ ( and ) ]. There are 4 bits in the brackets. These bits are will help in joining the msn room. All 4 bits are divided with a comma [ , ]. Each of these bits are incased in speech marks [ ' ]. The first bit of coding is not required, go to the next, the next bit should say 'g_<room name>' this is what you enter to join the room you wish to join, after that it should say the same thing just without the g_. The final bit is the user role, copy everything between the two speech marks. Once you have this on your clipboard [ where it goes to once you copied it ], go back to your bot, join the room with what is listed above, with the G_ part. If you do not enter the room directly, it should return something like access denied, depending on your connection, if this occurs, you are on the right track.

11 ] in the status window type /prop $ ROLE [ then paste your code in ] [ e.g. /prop $ ROLE 5AAAwAAAAG!mlI4wQwiJXxFlyvgycATJtHKG9 ]

If you want to make sure you have the right code, the code should be 154 characters with no spaces in it. After you have pasted the code, hit enter. If in the mIRC status window, it returns "No permission to perform command" you will need to go and redo it all over again. If it doesn't respond at all once you hit enter, type /hop. This will open up a chat window, and you will be set to chat.

These are all the instructions you should need, note that you will be required to get the user role each time you attempt to join the room, if you wish to save time, try and save it to a text file, and then do a copy & paste of the code, and if it returns, no permission to perform command, then do all the instructions again.

Steps to get into Subscription Chat:

Introduction: MSN chat is all msn chat rooms that users are able to use if they have paid for MSN. These rooms do require you to have a paid MSN account for your bot to use. You are still enter a room with your bot even if it doesn't have paid account, but you will not be able to have any operations in the room.

Steps:

1 ] Make sure you meet the following requirements before attempting to join the room:

                    i) Your bots passport must have been subscribed to MSN Chat

ii) These instructions are based on IE6, so it is best you have IE6

iii) The subscriberinfo will allow you to chat in the room so it all these instructions are useless if you do not have a paid account for your bot/script.

2 ] Sign out of your current passport, and sign into your bot's/script's passport. When you attempt to sign in, if no box appears with a login, and you sign in, then sign out again, and attempt to sign back in. This will assure that you are in your bots passport and not in your non-msn passport.

3 ] Once in your bot's passport, try to join the room you wish to be in. If the room does not exist, get someone who is involved in the room to get the room up, and then attempt to join the room. Once in the room say hello to make sure that you have the ability to talk in the room. If you do have voice ability, then continue to the next step, if you do not, and you do have a subscription account, talk to the owner(s) of the room and see if they can unspectate you first. Once you are, just try and chat, and if you succeed, continue to next step, else you are pretty much stuffed. Can't really offer any assistance if you do not have voice in the room.

4 ] Once you are 100% sure that you have a voice in the room, go to the following URL in the same window. [ http://chat.msn.com/renderchat.msnw ] Save this address to your favorites section so you can easy access it for the next time you need to retrieve the code.

5 ] When you view this window, you should see just a bit of scribble on this page. Take no regard to the scribble there. Right click the page, and click view source.

6 ] A text file of some sort should load up with the source code in it. Use the find feature and find the following; If you are using note pad, the find feature is in the edit section. Find the following; <PARAM NAME="SubscriberInfo" VALUE=

7 ] A code should appear with a double speech marks around it [ " ], this code in-between the two double speech marks is the subscriber info.

8 ] Copy this code, it should be 110 characters long with no spaces in it. Then join the room with your script/bot. You should be able to join without a problem but you wont be able to voice. once you are in the room, go to the status window and type in /prop $ subscriberinfo [ paste code here ] [ e.g. /prop $ subscriberinfo 5bAAAAAAAALVVA8FOowz ]

9 ] Type /hop and try and talk in the room. You should be able to chat.

Both of these instructions have been tested and are as descriptive as I can make them. These instructions did come straight from me, and not knocked off anyone else. Please comment if you have any problems, or comment with thanks. Please keep all comments on this post, related to what's here, not anything else, otherwise your post will be deleted.

Are the Subscription Chat instructions assuming the bots are using Vincula to connect ? Or doesn't it matter what connection your using?

well yes they are for vincula connection but they should work for all connections because you would still need to do the same things anyways, you may just have a different responce from your bot.

e.g.

access was denied to $chan

might be different, like...

un-able to join $chan

Thanks so much for posting this. I haven't actually tried it step by step but it looks right. Ever since MS restricted the chats I've had to talk I don't know how many people through getting scripts in. I kept meaning to write instructions but it's one of those things that kept getting put on the back burner. You're a lifesaver!

nice tutorials gate.its really helping rolleyes.gif .. maybe ill make a tutorials for some dll later.. biggrin.gif

Well thanks for that, it kinda makes sense, but how do I know if I have mIRC or 1E6??? are these things I download or do I have them on windows 98??

IE6 = internet explorer 6

mIRC = most supporting MSN chat bots.

As long as you have ie 5 or up the instructions should still suite.

If you have downloaded any of the bots from techgear they would most likely be supported by mIRC. To check what you have, just open up the bot you use to connect to msn, and on the help section, click about, and it should tell you it is mIRC.

Many thanks, my eyes keep telling me this is all too hard, lol, but then my determination wins through and I think, hey I have come a long way, and now I know what IE6 means etc. I just need to physc myself up and get downloading and following instructions

Thanks again for your patience with a raw beginner in this area.

very good directions...easy to understand...everything worked UNTIL I tried to get bot to speak..(when I entered /prop $ code...)...and then I had the following reply:

$ bad property specified

I then tried to continue but got: 1 sockwrite msn.server1.no such socket Line 287?

I may be doing some little thing incorrect. ???? Any advice

WHen I take the passport into the room (the PAYING ONE) I am able to chat....

Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I'm available to IM at [email protected] if I could have a few seconds of your time!

Thanks so much!

note it is NOT

/prop $ [subscription code] or /prop $ [user role code]

IT IS REALLY

/prop $ subscriberinfo [subscription code] or /prop $ ROLE [user role code]

sad.gifsad.gif ye....no...still dont get it all...still can't join groups mad.gif

put down what you don't get, and i'll try and explain it simpler but to those who know alittle bit of it should get it stright away because it is in almost the simplest form possible.

HI again:)

Thanks man Gate Keeper ur instructions r great man.i have don it n i guess if u do what it tells there then ull b in any room no time wink.gif

well i wana ask u this gate keeper that do i always have to get ma nick into the room n get the ROLE n then do that stuff agin n agian for getin into ma room.

or there is some other way like just simple

thanks anyway u really don great job putting that instructions here wink.gif

take care:)

well, there is but you'd have to modify your scripts to do that so i wouldn't recommend changing anything, not unless you know what your doing.

yeah i have the subscription passport for it, i have found the subscriber info in the renderchat page in the source code, i have joined a room without a voice and typed in /prop $ subscriberinfo

...

it then disconnects, i expect this is supposed to happen, but when I try to hop, I get this...

/sockwrite: 'msn.server.1' no such socket (line 288, vincula.mrc)

... then when i let it go for a minute, it tries to rejoin by itself, and the script still has no voice. several tries in a row doesn't work either. is there something I'm missing?

I'm using Hybrid Omega, in case that matters.

ATTENTION EVERYONE:

If I'm not mistaken I think that Hybrid has an older version of Vincula. V 4.8 right?

Well too fix that problem first unload your Vincula.mrc from the script.

Then you can re-download the fixed Vincula from here . That should work. If it doesnt post any problems you have in here.
