Help! Guard-Doctor and MTS Loader

Hey All,

I need some help! I downloaded GD5, created room, etc. All seems fine except I can't seem to get any updates from Guard-Doctor at all???? Also, I don't understand the MTS Loader thingy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might already have all the updates you need then. If you have them none will display in the "Update" section then. So, you should be good to go.

As for the MTS Loader what that does is change the theme in your mirc window. It is fun to use. Just play around with it, and see what you like to use.

Thank you Warrior for a quick reply. I don't have all the updates. I don't have the one for putting Gold Hammers, etc. into the MIRC and don't have the profile one. I'll try and do the MTS Loader, I tried before and couldn't get anything to come up?????

Still could use some help though

Ahh, to get the gold hammers into your nicklist you will need to do the following...

1. Right click, and go to "Nicklist Customiser [/gd5.nicklist]"

2. The Nicklist Customiser dialog will open.

3. Place a checkmark in the boxes "Custom Nicklist", "List View", and "Custom Popup"

4. Click the "OK" button, and the nicklist with icons in it will appear.

That is all that needs to be done for that.

Thanks again Warrior!!! I don't have the Nicklist /gd5.nicklist. I can't seem to get the updater to work?? I think I have the MTS Loader figured out though I have XP Home Sp2.

Right click and open Guard Doctor dialog. Click on Add-Ons. Click Get Addons. After that you should have the nicklist to replace the original nicklist. You have to download the add-on.

Thank you Mail, but nothing is showing on Add-ons or Update...there is nothing at all, No Nicklist update.....Nothing.

Ok here is the led by the hand version.

Click on GuardDoctor dialog.

First word left side you see inside the dialog says "Info". Second word you see inside the dialog is "Addons". Click on "Addons". Then Click "Get Addons". Wow "Custom Nicklist" and "Custom Macros" popped up in mine with a box that needs checking. Click the "Box" for "Custom Nicklist" and Click the button that says "Get Selected Addons". After getting the addons Click the Ok button to close the dialog and you should have the custom nicklist installed.

I don't think Dave made it very hard to understand at all.

DO NOT click the word "Updates" as your script is already Updated.

it's not hard, just requires browsing...

Once the features are downloaded they go into the "Manage Addon" section, where you can click the feature, and click view main dialog (that is provided it has one).

Thank You Mail for your instructions! I have already done that! What I am trying to get across and not very well it seems, is that when I click on to Add-on....I have NOTHING. It is very simple to do and I understand the instructions, it's that I am not getting anything in the Updates but KNOW that there are upddates. Now I am also experiencing the Program freezing up on me from time to time????

Anymore help would be appreciated by anyone!

along the bottom of GuarD-Doctor, there is a status bar.

Does it say

Addons: 0, Updates: 0, Themes: 0

If it does, then you've got everything, however if those numbers there are dashes (as -), then it hasn't been able to check the server. If your behind a firewall, that could be the problem. If you've got a port blocker, that could be the problem as well.

Yes it does have the ( - ) dashes and Yes I do have a firewall. I will disable the firewall and try to do this later. Thank you for your input and God Bless You for your work that you have done on your bot. My wife and I greatly appreciate you and your labour. Thank you!

Try downloading a new copy then and see if that doesnt fix your problem. The new copy should have been updated by Dave already so you won't have any updating to do until Dave does his next rounds of updates.

Naw, it's better to resolve it by having the firewall allow mIRC to open and close sockets, otherwise you'll always have this problem.

I am still having problems with my updates? I have Zone Alarm...I have allowed MIRC into my trusted and internet settings but have not allowed it in the SERVER settings.....should I allow MIRC into Server Settings. Also, time after time when I activate GuardDog I keep getting a '' Not Responding" and have to use the Task Manager to close out of the MIRC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you would need to allow it into the server settings as well for it to work properly.

Thank you all for taking your time to try and help me out . I am still not having any success. I deleted GD and d/l a new one.

I am able to create my room with out any problems.

1. When someone enters the room it puts them on Spectator, even though I have the Moderated ticked. Any suggestion?

2. I made sure that my Zone Alarm was allowing the MIRC to have access and it does. I still can not retrieve the updates, the bottom of the page still shows the dashes ( - ) instead of a number? Can I go to a site and manually update the updates?

3. I am trying to get the MTS Loader to work. I open the MTS Loader, click on File, add Folder, choose a Theme, click Load and I don't see anything happening???? What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer to Q1 : goto aop system, then goto aop settings, and tick "auto voice onjoin", then click OK.

Answer to Q2 : Make sure zone-alarm is allowing ports to be opened to guard-dog.net, because that is where the files are located so yea, make sure it's allowing it to open to there. It's possible to manual update, but not recommended as it is a complex system.

Answer to Q3 : Open up MTS Loader. Then click file > clear list. Then click file > add folder. Navigate to GuarDDog's main directory (should be automatic), then expand the folder MTSLoader, then select (as in click on) the folder "MTS Themes" then click OK. After that, the list should show you three theme files. To see what they look like, along the top, click "Preview", under schemes, you can see different types of schemes for that theme. Etc, do so till you find one you like, then click "Load". That should do it.

On Question #1: I open AOP System [ /gd5.aop], then you say to go to AOP Settings? I do not have that : on the left side of the screen it says DataBase at the top, Level Controls below it with Global Admin, etc...at the very end of this list it has Other Settings, when I click on it I get an a reading - [ 02:19] * / if: invalid format (line 317, AOP.mrc). I've looked everywhere for Auto Voice Onjoin and can't find it.

#2: I came back online to check and see if anyone had responded to my message and I open GD and went to Guard-Doctor and all the Addons and Updates were there??? I can't figure out why, because I didn't change any settings differently?? I'm not complaining mind you...LOL. I updated the 3 addons and 1 update. Nicklist Optimizer, Profile Scanner and Macros [which I have no clue what that is...lol ]

#3: I followed your steps for the MTS Loader and nothing happens in the preview screen at all. The little MTS Preview box comes up, but no activity in it. I get this error message:

* /loadbuf: unable to open 'C:\GuarDDog\MTSLoader\MTS' (line 1808, mts.mrc).

When I click on 'Load' , I get this: * /dialog: 'preaux' name in use (line 1169, mts.mrc).

I hope this info will help you figure out what is going on here? I have downloaded your GD about 3-4 times now hoping that would solve my problems?

With GuarD-Doctor, UPDATE EVERYTHING, don't just select a few, update them all, as they are really required in the long run.

After you update them all, close and open, and try the rest.
