All servers are different, but most will have a nickserv.

try either

/ns help

/msg nickserv help

hmm... I usually use ChanServ. :\ I think this is Auspice(sp) services...

/cs SET #Channel JOIN ON

This makes ChanServ join the channel and stay in there I do believe.
