Hi,

Since the recent updates to guard dog, my bot has been kicking users when they all type the same answer in, trying to respond to a trivia question.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've checked the choke chain protection to make sure all text flooding options are off. I've even turned other options off just to make sure they are not the reason for this happening. I've checked mirc flood protection to ensure that it is also turned off.

Do you know why this could be happening? I wanted to make you aware that it has been happening since the recent updates. Please let me know if there is something easy i am overlooking to fix this. Also, any suggestions on how to fix the problem would be so much appreciated, thank you!

Yep, Ive had that problem to.

Thanks! it's good to know it's not just me! Why is that somehow comforting????? lol

Probably cuz you dont feel alone. I also noticed when I do word frenzy, and it ends a round, it floods out the bot. That might just be me, but eh

Shrugs

TGK made the trivia for GD5?

I did the updates just now, and there was no trivia, just an update to word frenzy.

I haven't really been using GD lately, time ticking away and all, so I have not kept up with all updates.

Trying to write my own stuff and get Absinthe they way I want it seems to take almoat all my time.

Last time I saw, TGK said that most trivia add ons would not work right with DC connection..

Anyways, I'm sure TGK will answer this one soon.

No, theres trivia on other scripts, and GD is picking it up as a text flood ... even with text flood off ...

oops..sorry..

slaps himself with a really big rock..

hmm, for now, change the triggure to a higher ratio. I will see what i can do to fix this problem.

Do you mean the trigger in tools, then options in Mirc? If so, i've tried that too, as well as turning the flood protection off....i set it even higher, i'll see how that works.

I copied and pasted an example of what is happening. It's also setting an access ban for these users who get kicked at 5 minutes, so they are not able to return right away either :(

Five people responded with the same answer to the question and all five were kicked...Just wanted to give you an example in print about what was happening. Thanks a lot!

I think he means the Choke Chain Protection system

I have very simple solution for you. Find the text events in remotes. Can be easily done by finding those kicks using the find option in remotes. Look for "No text flooding". Then remove the events that trigger that command, or just put a ";" in front of the command so it halts it. Then you won't have anymore trouble with it.

I went to ON_Events.mrc (assuming this is where you mean)....searched "No text flooding" (with and w/o the quotes)....found nothing. When i searched for text flood.....it took me to ChokeChain.mrc and this is how it reads:

%a 298 0 0 0 1 Text Flooding $chr(9) 3/2 $chr(9) $chr(32) $chr(9) No $chr(9) 0 $chr(4) $+ fmprot.text

Being a person who has NO CLUE about scripting, and also one that has really messed up the bot before by trying to alter them....I think i have to leave this to you pros. Thanks though.....wish i knew what i was doing!!!

Ok, thanks a lot! I did that, hope it helps! Thanks for letting me know with greater detail how to adjust the triggers.

Believe me, editing GuardDog is NOT a good idea ... just trigger it so you have something like 100 words in 5 seconds ..

Thanks, I assumed as much , since I have no idea what i am doing, oh and i've messed up a bot or two by editing....so;) i won't be doing that anytime soon!!!!
