Opening script from a remote command — Forum

K, well ... earlier today, I was playing around with things and just messin with stuff, and I was wondering something. Is it possible to open the actual mIRC.exe from the tray through a remote command? What I mean:

Tester: .open
Script brings up mIRC.exe

Would this be a COM object? Any help appreciated.

That should do the job for you.

Wow, that simple? I thought it would be a COM object ... I should probably mention its for 6.03(yea yea, go ahead .. say I need to update).

i'm not sure, i just based it on the commands found in the help file from mIRC 6.17, but it's worth a shot, i doubt those commands would change much. Try it and find out.

Well, I tried it with no luck .. I'm still kinda leaning toward a COM object, which I know is probably completely off, but, I'll look through the helpfile some more. Thanks for the help David.

it would be possible with com, but i have no experience with com, so i didn't make it with com, but i know the code i gave with most likely work on the 6.1x versions.
