GD 5 and Script Detection / Kicking

LTNS - and thanks again to TGK for creating such a fantastic script!

Ok - OhRoses and I co-run a popular trivia room in MSN Chat land, and we are having some hacker challenges. Now, I know in 2 weeks or so our problems will diminish greatly, since most of our hackers will go back to their 7th or 8th grade classrooms, but even so I would like some advice from all of you.

In GD, in Choke Chain Protection, there is a section specific to script detection and kicking. Roses and I have both checked all of the detection options, and set up to kick scripts. But scripts still slip in! We have a friendly nic that brings her script in at will, and neither of our GD scripts detect or kick her.

So my question is this - is there an effective way to detect when a script enters the room? If so, can that be set in GD?

mmm see if theres an option to kick ppl who use a nick thats diffrent from the profile.

I have this set up for mine, kicks all scripts that come in:

CTCP [Version]

There are some that are undetectable. You jus hafta kick manually. Hope it works

I have the same problem, GD5 did detect most scripts and most webTV, but recently i have installed GD5 again, with all the updates, and it doesnt see any script or webTV.

Dunno whats up right now but any suggestions are greatly appreciated

ctcp replies and connection tags aren' anymore practical for script detection ,,

comparing profile isnt practical either cuz it takes times 2 retrieve profile's nickname

there's a way uncludin a risk .. PING and TIME replies delay

on sum slower connections or pc lag ausual web user would be considred a script

but i think its the only practical way !
