How do MSN chat clones like Buzzen, SCNCHAT etc authenticate users?

Is there a tutorial on how they do this, what if I wanted to authenticate users through an IRC chat system, how would I go about doing it?

Apparently your new. If you werent, you'd know that we dont support this. Hire someone to make you your OWN OCX, and do it that way.
