Hey guys!

Some of you may or may not know that former Administrator of MSN Chat, Koach, has made a webpage that will show you screenshots of the tools that were used on the servers by the Sysops. From what I hear, Koach is now a registered member on this forum, so he can answer any questions that may arise hopefully :) Here you go:

MSN Tools for Sysops

Good screenshots.

Interesting all vb based. No mIRC usage.

Custom Computer

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 5200+

Asus M2N-SLI MOB

2GB DDR2 @ 800mhz

160GB Hard Drive

NVidia GeForce 8400GS 256

HA!

MSN Chat Staff were just a bunch of scripters..j/k!

The only question I ever really wanted to know was if the Sysops in MSN ever just popped in peoples group chats. I only ask because there were a few times that someone would come into the room, and no one would know who they were. They would leave just like they entered, quietly.

<~shruggs~>

Not that it matters anymore. My thought was always a scripter that had managed to gain acess to my rooms via some form of theft. I never bothered reporting it because there was never any harm done. Just a room with a few people asking "WTH was that?!"...LOL

Yep, i imagin its because vb is squillions faster than mirc scripting! :P

Yeah interesting to look at what was used on MSN! :)

Nice tools. I bet they are not releasable. lol

They can't lol, they were made for MSN for the staff lol I highly doubt they'd work on any other server.

heh talk about beating the dead donkey a few times

I'm not convinced that it's authentic. It just looks too plain to me. On the SRC screenshot, for example, look at the two boxes for the nicknames - one is aligned closer to the top, the other closer to the bottom.

Problem is you can't prove one way or the other as MSNChat is now closed.

I don't get paid to know the answer, therefore I'm far more likely to give you a straight and honest answer.

The tools were built by Koach for use by... Koach, with functionality in mind, not aesthetics.

I think those tools are made by Koach, some must having used on msn chat. Looks like they are being used on Koach's server. I can see some names that stay on Koach's server.

Has this turned into a debate about of the clients are real or not?

I am not sure someone would take the time to do all that work for nothing. Just to post a few images. <~shakes head~> That's not even a question.

They're real lol. Koach built them for MSN. It's on his website so how can it not be 'official'? jeez lol....

Those used to be the official tools that Koach built and used on MSN chat. The simpler the VB client is, the faster the commands can go. Hence the reason they're not loaded down and look great.

I want to see Sysop_ServiceBot

;x

IN ACTION

Ignorance Is Bliss

That was an MSN made bot.

flower koach

Oh..my...god... Zantetsuken you're SO cool!

Actually, using flower in his post is pretty cool. :embar:

lol ..

Hi all,

First, isn't a riot that a few pictures from MSN can still cause squabbling lol

To answer a few questions, sysops were not supposed to join groups chat rooms, but that doesn't mean they didn't. A few were fired for doing it though.

About the tools, yes they are definately real.

No, they won't ever be released. They would not work anywhere else. They were designed specifically to work with MSN's directory servers and chat servers.

I don't use any of them on my server because I am using IRCD and MSN was some weird version of IRCx (but really not ircx. If I remember right, msn called it something like IRC8 at the end).

I spent no time at all trying to make them pretty lol. Look at Battlebot. That has to be one of the most powerful bots ever written (it was a MSN Admin), but also one of the ugliest.

Regarding Sysop_ServiceBot, I did not write that one, but it was sure fast. It could kill hundreds of users in just a few seconds (joining and parting each room) lol. MSN did not write it, but I won't say who did unless I was given permission. Ther are no snapshots of it because it ran in the background.
