Hello I'm working on a connection

But it seems that When I add a who or flood protection it disconnects but without these it holds well any idea's?

Thanks :lmaojump:

will need to see some kinda coding on what kinda flood control you have

the reason is because you might be trying to do too many things at once, and the server is disconnecting you.

As mentioned... What exactly is your protection method?

but thing is it does the same when I add Whois

Well I throught I post the code

Why do you have two instances of an on sockclose event? They look like they're doing the same thing.

the reason why you get it when you add the whois as well, is exactly as i said, you are trying to do too many things at once, and the server considers that flooding.

You need to put a counter, so that you only perform X amount of commands per few seconds, so that the server wont kick you off.

Where?

Here

on *:sockclose:sock.server:{
  echo -a 4* Server disconnected. Retrying.
  sockclose sock.local
  sconnect
}

  on *:socklisten:init.connection:{
  sockaccept sock.local
  sockclose $sockname
  sockopen sock.server 24.215.5.3 6667

Spam Honeypot - http://www.haggistech.co.uk/honey(humans do not register)

He probably inadvertently placed it there... <wo0t>

ok Thanks For that

My Second Question How would you go about adding a counter?

Thanks :rate:

A counter? Be more specific.

i think he means a timer so that its not all goiong off at once like TGK advised

Ahhh ok Timer I know :P:D

Thanks

Well.

I see there's another [kind gentleman] here trying to rip my shit.

Golly gosh, it's not even worth ripping

If you want to use my connection, at least ask.

But thanks, Dippy, for the compliment of the rip.

Anyone want proof of my ripping accusation, feel free to look at the original connection, at the following: Simple Dodgy Connection.

[Edited so it doesn't offend err0r's delicate sensibilities. ;p]

Lol burn

The scripting world is so dumb... which is sort of why I quit... Everyone accuses left and right of everyone ripping their code. -- it gets old very fast.

err0r: 666 + 1337 = 2003 backwards is 3002 which is how many people ozzy has banned from tg

I don't accuse willy nilly, but there is no way in the world that this isn't ripping - he's blatantly copied & pasted large sections of code. If people rip elegantly, and make the code their own, I don't mind. Copy & pasting is a no-no, especially when the person in question doesn't understand the code. (As evidenced by the fact that he's asking for help with it.)

Josh, it is what you make of it. Don't be hampered by what others do if you dont like it. Just because other's attitude may get you down doesn;t mean you should stop. It means you should continue and show others the qualities you appreciate.

Nah, that's ok... mIRC has gotten old... There's not much you can do in it that hasn't been done before... I'm going to stick to drawing, digital painting, and 3d animation. :)
