I'm trying to compile a list of IRC Clients that are actually worth using. That is other than mIRC. If any of you use an alternate IRC client could you post the name/homepage/ and a short description of why you prefer it over mIRC.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

HydraIRC

This is the only other IRC client I could find that is decent enough to use other than mIRC. It looks and behaves a lot like mIRC. This has a few more features than mIRC and a few less features than mIRC. I've yet to look into any scripting (if it's even possible)

I used to use Xchat a lot and wrote a couple of plugins for it

Spam Honeypot - http://www.haggistech.co.uk/honey(humans do not register)

The only client that ive used and actually helped work on it with a huge amounts of people was KVIRc its a great client with the ablity to add your advatar to the script plus a huge amount of themes too choose from. Szymon Stefanek and also quite a few developers have created this GUI client and the developers are people like scripters and graphic's and etc. its a great client with a huge amount of features!!

You and me will all go down in history,

With a sad Statue of Liberty,

And a Generation that didn't agree.

XChat and Gaim are linux irc clients

i've used x-chat several times both on linux and windows.. pretty nice client

That's me..

Linux has, flowering-x, epic, epicII, IrcII, irssi, scrollz, and more...

Also if you like mirc, find crossover (the free version) they gave out a few months back. Itll run mirc 99% only thing i found it wont work is the numbered setup in the editor. can code most anything that doesnt rely on windows API, sockets, etc, etc...
