Phreik Chat Update

phreik.net has had a major overhaul and it now uses a completely new set of webpages as well as new ircd base chatserver.

This comes after nearly 2yrs of planning so please come visit and check out the new site at http://www.phreik.net

For mirc users you will need the official phreikchataddon to connect your scripts to the site.

I don't know if it's only me or what. But through the google search for phreik.com, I see "This site may harm your computer" link.

Maybe it was done by mistake, i heard about some innocent people being called harmfull by google in recent weeks due to panic about some malware or other. Or maybe someone set them up i duno, either way it seems to be resolved, all clean and clear now.

I have an odd habit, and that is, I won't visit a site until it's shown on a search engine...and furthermore, I want to make sure a site has not been exploited with code injection of any sort.

There must be alot of websites you dont visit then Fanfare lol!!! As for Phreik.. I have never had any problems in the many years I have visited that site whether it was Phreik.com or Phreik.net so Im unsure why theres alerts going around about the website being harmful etc.!?!

I swear last time I checked phreik.com via google search, it was marked with a link tag stating "This site may harm your computer." I rechecked it just now and the warning has been lifted. Not trying to bash Phreik in any way, I'm sure phriek is a respected, clean site; In fact, I visited it a few times before...But these days you just can't be too careful, because a legit site can be exploited before you know it, as well as without site owner's awareness.

I saw that warning as well that same day when I Googled it. But its gone now and marked green for trustworthy

i have seen that warning also i had to turn off my firewall just to get into the website, there are alot of error's on the website you cant even connect to it sometimes becasue of the ocx and other things, there needs to be alot of work put into this website before its working ok.

even the phpfox system there using its edited ok but still needs alot of work done to it i think they should make a custom system, not use a 3rd party.

Thats misleading phrasing your using! Connection to the website trouble due to the ocx? ... Dont see how thats even possible, connection trouble with chat, possibly as the ocx only comes into play when someone goes to a chatroom. (wish they'd get that sorted .. with a new webchat!)

What are your suggestions for improving the phpfox system?

I doubt any of the clones or non clones that are in the same era as phreik, buzzen, speakpea etc would be able to develop a custom sns without using 3rd party software, buzzen for example who is widley credited as the most advanced chat of this era, uses the script called SocialEngine for their beta website.

well first of all they are getting a new OCX thats what i know its getting made in a C++ plat form.

Buzzen on the other hand they are using a new website becasue they lost there programmer becasue they ripped him off thats why so buzzen dont know what to do anymore however a site like buzzen can be created and better then them, however they need a better team in place who knows how to program a website and system, there is nothing wrong with using PHPFOX but i dont like it if i was a owner of a chat network i would be using custom system all the way.

Oh i am glad they moved away from PHPBB2 dont get me wrong, the new site they have now is nice i like it, but PHPFOX like they have alot of problems with there system becasue its easy to hack, if you going to use that system you should have SSL 128bit for the Login area & account area when you update things becasue you are keeping the data safe.

Buzzen on the other hand they dont even have any SSL on there website they should in there acount area plus login area it dont matter if its only a login area or account area you still have to keep that information safe online becasue you dont know who is on there if you look at most companys in the world they use SSL for pretty much anything you know.

Like tg007.net for exsample they dont need a SSL becasue they have a very smart PHP programmer errOr hes not dumb he would lock all the wholes out and make it all safe you know,

But when it comes to Buzzen.com they are not smart becasue they dont even have a head programmer now becasue they ripped him off and now they are going to a 3rd party software becasue there lost on what to do,and even that new site they have is a clone of the Phriek website anyway becasue that design they have now used to be the new design for phriek but they cloned it.

You are right through buzzen does have a nice system in place there is no other company online that has a system like theres well custom anyway, but for what i know about buzzen is there used & abused alot of people in the years to get this far, they havnt done the right thing to be where they are today.

Phriek on the other hand, look at them they are a great site fast chat server, there chat server is the best out there i think it smash's Buzzen, there server programmer is smart atleast hey hasnt ripped know one off for coding or help or what so ever, yes they had PHPBB2 for a long time, now they have moved up in the real world and got a new site, and soon i hope they go custom i really do i think they are worth the time and day.

Buzzen.com makes people pay for chat rooms, what kind of site is that, like a chat network is ment to be for people to have fun, and chat meet friends play games do all that kind of stuff, you shouldnt have to pay to have your own room if thats the case you better ring up microsoft and say bring back MSN CHAT we will pay to use it.

If your going to run a chat network well you then have to make sure you have the money to pay for it, otherwise dont run one or own one its that simple.

ok like the Buzzen OCX they have dont get me wrong its nice its ok but its done most flash its slow half the time it lags it dont even download everything most times what about dial up users and that, i think its done wrong, and should be better coded,

First of all yes i do know my stuff i am a Dr in Software and system Programming thats what i do, Second thing, Phriek does not run from a server at home they run there servers in a data centre in USA.

Who care's what jay gave up for his server thats his problem at the end of the day he still ripped off coders for his site, he removed one of them becasue he owes him money, and now they have to make a new website in 3rd party casue they dont know how to upgrade the current site.

And plus they act like microsoft and they have alot of users of course thats fine thats only becasue other sites havnt made a real chat network design like buzzen has or will have should i say.

But if your happy there then have fun.
