Icons onto a button

Hello, does anyone know how to add an icon onto a button on mIRC for example, the Start button on windows has a little icon on the left of the word Start.. any comments welcome

What's the point of putting an icon on a button? You can use on sclick for icons aswell. I'm pretty sure you can also use on sclick for text (don't hold it against me if you cant ) if you're planning to have an icon next to text.

do a screen shot of a dialog button and use that

I dont think either of you are following what i mean. Never mind i can live with out it

I think I know... either something that when you press it it pops up a menu, or something that when you press it, it looks embeded into the screen. Instead of just an "<a href" on an HTML image......?

I know how to popup a menu using popups.dll anyways that not what i ment. Look at your "Start" button on windows.. on the left of the word Start is a little icon right? thats what i wanted, nevermind though i can live with out it

1) Take a screeny of a button, edit it to show the button only, paste the icon onto it then use the resulting pic as an icon.

2) Leave sufficient space on the button that you want an icon on then put the icon in the location you want it on the button. As long as the icon has a higher id number it should be on top of the button.

3) Just use an icon and text instead of the button.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is: Give us an example!

I think he means like the windows icon on the start button... i guess.

absorbx, u can use a shot of an image like git said, but u'll face the problem i had.. it'll be unpressable. well, i considered that a problem ! o_O

No, you're wrong. Your trying to do what Chris aka zBrute did. You can ask him how he did it. I thought he used sclick on an icon. It could very well be popups/ktools duo.

I have NEVER been able to use an sclick event for a text box to date, so if it can be done, please, PLEASE let me know lol

it is possible. Using CTL_GEN.MDX makes it possible, but i haven't worked out if colors work on it yet, so yea, its possible. If you wanted the tutorial for it, you can ask me or download the whole mdx package from techgear007.net. Happy testing
