Help And Advice

I made a fool of myself once before with that silly question on buzzen connection lets see if I can do it again ... ok I am thinking of opening a room in spcn and I was wondering if there is some way I could play music to the room members only (No One Else) ... this is where I need advice on what I will need and also a tutorial on how to do it ... nais tuke = thank you for any replies

Wel for one you could stream of your pc trought mirc. I've seen some snippets before but didn't look trought how it works.

You could also set up a radiocast . http://s4.myradiostream.com it's a free streamserver and it provides you a link and a player , you can stream with virtual dj , winamp or windowsmediaplayer , but you'll have to give the link to the chatters on the other hand you can make a page on your own website with the chatapllet of your room en implement the shoutcast player in that page so they can chat and listen music at the same time.

I can help you with myradiostream to set it up , but not with the html or something.

I also have a Chatroom where i play music using the myradiostream , i'm kinda a bedroom dj .

iv gone to the link you gave me Ronan http://s4.myradiostream.com/ you get a page where is says REGISTER FOR A FREE SHOUTCAST SERVER I clicked on that and it sends me to another page where I get this REGISTER HERE I click on that and it sends me to another page where I get this I agree - sign me up! and then It sends me to the picture you can see below but there is no way to register ... you cant add a "Username" or "Password" "Confirm Password" "Email" so I wonder if you can point me in the right direction where im going wrong .... as always thank you for your help

 

Well it seems that they have updated their site , if i'm back at home i'll look it up for joe

First of all,

 

you can download shoutcast from there website as long as u have a stable internet with a IP u can stream it your self u can use a program called Dj sam Broadcaster that is a nice program

thank you for your help QldTaken iv gone to google and typed free download shoutcast and iv found there site in google .... so iv downloaded "shoutcast-dnas-1-9-8-windows" iv also downloaded another from that site "shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows" im not sure which one to use but i will try them both and iv also downloaded "sambc-fb" now im off to try them and see how I go on lol wish me luck again QldTaken thanks.

iv installed shoutcast with the toolbar shoutcast-dnas-1-9-8-windows and iv also installed sambc-fb im sorry but im not to good at reading things and taking them in so you will have to help me here how do I play the music to the room as iv got no link to the room ? do I need a stream host and if so iv tried to get that free one that Ronan gave me but as you can see from the post im having problems registering ... until Im sure I get this right im not going to pay for a stream host. im also sorry for adding pictures but they is the only way I know how to explain myself ... again thank you for your help

Ok if u have installed shoutcast windows u will need to edit the config file that will be placed in its folder in your C drive, now do u have a stable IP address that u can use or does your IP Address change all the time if you have a stable one get that just go to google or something and grab it you need to place that ip address in the config file so it will run,

 

once you have done that then you open Sam Broadcaster you will be looking for the broadcasting connection area in there you then add the details such as

 

IP Of the hosting shoutcast server

Name of the radio server

username

password

music speed rate such as like do you want people to listen to the music at 128kbs or 64kbs you choose that once you have filled in that information then you click ok to save it then right click on it and start it that will connect to the radio server and then once connected you are live then start playing music, how do you get the link for your radio well thats easy,

http://domainname.com:8000

 

go to that once you check it change the domain name to your IP Address it will have a area up top there it will say listen now right click on that and copy the link it will connect you to listen through winamp,

 

If you want people to listen via Windows Media player just use this to connect in media player http://ip:8000

If you dont know what Teamview is its a support program so i can see your screen and i can help you install it and get it running,

 

Just let me know when you ready or something, i will be around im online alot so i am sure i will get a email saying you have replyed, i hope your new hard drive is better for u,

 

i just brought a new computer as well so yeah i installed XP Home on it i cant stand the new systems they have out or i got windows server 2003

 

So tell me are you planning to run this radio music thing 24/7 or is it only for short time only, have you got a other computer to run it on, or are you running it on your main computer.

 

Becasue if you have a other computer you could install windows server 2003 and run it on that, but like i asked you in the last reply do you have a stable Internet IP ADDRESS,

 

If you dont then your in trouble or you can use a free online dns service for your internet just remember with the sam broadcaster it only works for 30 days then you have to buy it.

QldTaken the new hard drive is in the machine and up and running ... yes I have a stable Internet connection my ISP is virgin media cable and my IP address hasnt changed in ages I also have a D-Link Router as we have a laptop and I also have a KVM switch as I have an XP Pro on that and its erm erm I take the 5th on that ... yes I noticed that sam is only a 30 day trail and as for the 24/7 thing I was only going to use it while I was in the room and when or if anyone came into the room I could give them a link where I they could listen to me dj'ing if they could understand me .... so I will wait for some advice from you on what to do next before I start installing "Shoutcase" and as for "Sam" not sure what to do about that ... as always paracrow tute = thank you for all your help and advice even though I have to read your replies over and over again.
