iv been looking at some of the postings on the forum and I noticed a messenger 10 download ... my question is do I have to un-install the live messenger iv got on this machine before I download the messenger 10 as always thank you for any replies

you talking bout Yahoo messenger 10 ? that doesn't have anything to do with windows live i don't think. but if you do update windows live u don't have to uninstall.. msn is pretty much defunct so i wouldn't expect a msn messenger.. it would be windows live messenger

Last time i checked Messenger 10 wasnt out yet for download????
anyway you dont have to uninstall it msn just installs new files for it

i'm guessing you are talking bout windows live 2010.. i wouldn't upgrade to that until it has an official release
