Tcl Scripter Wanted !

if anybody has experience in programming in TCL , and wants a join a small chat network development team, being me, an 1 other.

lets know.

if you see in phreik rooms,

there is a Server_Bot and an Idle_Bot. Sever_Bot does the background tasks of communicating with

database tables to do tasks like webpage list updating, room founder +q 'ing etc.

ServerBot is actually a mircscript socketbot, hence requireing a Windoze VPS account.

and an Idle_Bot , idlebot is dumb does nothing, its a short TCL script written by me, and runs localhost to the

unrealircd daemon, it just joins all rooms from /list command.

The TCL programmer task is , to program a TCL Bot like idle bot, to perform all the functions of Server_Bot

so the bot can run localhost to the unrealircd on FreeBSD, or on a separate shell. so we can get rid of the VPS account.

I will consider helping with this. I admit this sort of stuff used to be quite fun for me. I would like a little more detail about what you are looking for.

Just a long shot posting on TG ... being more so a "mircscript" place.

In the end Stealth learned tcl and did it himself lol! It's up and running really well, as far as i can tell! Good job.

phreik hosting cost now reduced by another $28/m and server_bot is stable.

did some benchmarking.. tcl executes about 10-12 times faster than mircscript. which is pretty cool.

working on a simple tcl bot atm that i may give out. it wont do a great deal of tricks..

but main advantage.. is that it can run on any OS, eg. hire shell account for $2/m or if you happen

to hav a Webhosting account that allows ssh access.. you will be able to run the bot off that, and hav
