Sony Online Entertainment has revealed how they plan to compensate users following a data breach that compromised more than 24 million accounts.

In a statement released on their website, Sony Online -- which runs massively multiplayer games such as DC Universe Online, Everquest and Free Realms -- says all impacted users will receive 30 days of free game time added to their billing cycle.

In addition, players will receive a free day of service for each day the system is down. SOE was taken offline in early May following a breach that exposed personal data on 24.6 million accounts.

SOE has confirmed that subscribers will receive the same access to identity theft protection services as users of the PlayStation Network. SOE has full details on the program here.
