how to chat with a different nickname
A lot of people have brought this up. Honestly, I intentionally made it difficult to do this in ClearMSN because of disruptive users. It is still possible, however, you will want to keep in mind that Stealth Mode will not work when using a different nickname, so you will be vulnerable to all script alarms.
Anyway, on with the how-to:
1. Make sure no subscription rooms are open.
2. Open the Control Panel (/cmsn) and disable Stealth Mode on the Options tab.
3. Go to the main status window (showing MSN as the network)
4. type /nick <nickname>
5. join a room. your nickname should be the one you just chose.
note: you can only use ONE nickname at a time in subscription channels, but should be able to chat with multiple nicknames in Groups, so long as you follow the steps above for each room.

"I can't create my Group's room! What's wrong?"
There are only two reasons why ClearMSN would be unable to create the room for your Group: either you have not saved a nickname for that group, or you are trying to open a group with a passport other than the active passport.
1. To save a nickname for the group:
Open the Groups Dialog by typing the command /uroles. Select the group from the listbox, and enter the nickname in the editbox near the bottom of the dialog. Click Save. The nickname you save must be your official nickname for the group. Now, you can create your room.
2. To change the active passport:
ClearMSN can only create a Group's room if the active passport is a member of that Group. The active passport is stored in the variable %updateuser. To change the active passport, make sure there are no subscription rooms open, and enter the command /ppswitch <email of passport>. Then, enter the command /checkgrp and wait for the Groups connection to be re-established. You should now be able to create your room.
