I've tried to connect a few times.
go to the setup tab in control panel, and set your connection type to a slower one. try again. chances are, this is your problem, since no one else has reported connection problems with 5.2. if you still can't connect, it's probably because your connection is ridiculously slow, in which case, try commenting out (putting ; at the beginning of) lines 763 and 780. with the ocx problems fixed in 5.2, these lines should no longer be necessary.
i usually use 'show msn colors' in my copy, which is the same except for a few lines that have nothing to do with that feature.. and mine works fine. maybe everyone is using green font?

I have been using ie as well, and tested it out using different colors. However, it only shows green for some reason in the script I use ClearMSN in. I also tried using Vincula to see if it does the same. However, the colors does show in Vincula. I don't know what it could be, myself. ![]()
I know my connection isnt slow, I use a cable connection. I tried what you said, and that did'nt work.
I did what TGK said, and it works now. Thx. ![]()
Got another error for you.
Whenever I use /me, it comes up as an action on my screen, but to everyone else its ACTION 'action here'
Whats up with that?
put this over the top of line 2107-2114
on *:INPUT:#:{
if (/* !iswm $1) {
.msg $chan $1-
echo -i23 $chan $+ $iif($mi isowner $chan,8 $+ $iif(sysop isin $me,•),$iif($mi isop $chan,7,$iif($mi isvoice $chan,9,11))) $+ • $+ $str( ,$calc(17 - $len($mi))) $iif($len($mi) < 18,$mi,$left($mi,15) $+ ..) : $iif(%msnc,$mfont($font($1-)),$1-)
haltdef
}
elseif ($1 == /me) || ($1 == /action) { .describe $chan $2- | echo $color(action) -ai23 $str( ,21) $+ 10• $mi $2- | haltdef }
else { $1- }
}
thinks to himself *at the rate i'm going, vex can take a holiday
*
At the rate these problems are coming in at, there'll be a ClearMSN 180.2 ![]()
No, nobody's perfect but it seems like beta testing needs to be carried out more extensively, preferably by other experienced scripters. Maybe Dave can help you ![]()
1. beta testing is harder to get done than it sounds
2. red shows up as green? check which mirc color scheme you're using. "placid hues" will make that happen. if thats not it, i dunno. green is nice.
3. the action bug has been fixed (and you dont have to turn on the clearmsn theme to use the fix) but the file hasnt been uploaded here yet. you can get it from my site (forums)
4. im not cranky.
it was updated last nite vex , its on techgear still as v5.2
My code does NOT have bugs. It just develops random features.
wonder who will submit updates more in the least amount of time.. vex or gwen ![]()
lol! (err0r) I think I won..though I'm betting that vex would be able to comiserate with me on the pains of bugs..
[and I agree with vex, beta testing is harder then one might expect..and with msn slower..its harder then ever to find people wanting to test things out extensively]
Thanks for being tolerant though:-)
ps, what version of clearMSN are you at now vex :-)
public version is 5.2 but personally im using version 5.232.45234-a.b4a335453.9.001zz.05 ![]()

5.232.45234-a.b4a335453.9.001zz.04
can i have version
5.232.45234-a.b4a335453.9.001zz.05
