vincula bug

hello,

allways had this problem with every version of vincula i've used but, tried to fix it myself while back with no succes lol well its nothing major so i just sluffed it off

here is how to reproduce the prob...

start up my script and join a group room via the "recent list" in vincula popup WITHOUT updating the passport FIRST... it then updates the passport (successfully) and brings up the create dialog with %#-c in as the room to create... it also puts a -c into the "join recent room" in vincula popups

also echos this %#-c not found (Lookup time: 0.13 seconds)

id say to hell with it and use vinc ezr 3.8 but i have a few mods done to my vinc connection(not the cuase for my said problem) and ezr is buggy for me... cant use any `remote commands, :#{ errors in status and the like.. :sigh:

I cant say i have had that prob with any version oc vinc

It could be something you have changed in it

Have you tried scanning the vinc file for "-c" and then checking your coding??

Ctrl + F or "find text" works for checking...

yep been through it a couple times..busy with work and classes.. im going to take a fresh copy and take all my mods and throw em in and check it before and after i do that :S just need to find some time to sit down and do it all in 1 shot

bah.. fresh vincula still does it

still does it? ..is that before or after the modifications? ...I'm not exactly clear on the problem your having..is it trying to create a room named -c for you? Anyways, I've tried nearly every modified and non-modified vincula around, and haven't ever run into anything like it either.

just wait til clearmsn 5.4 is released, and that won't happen to you.

Noticed the same problem. he left out though it only does it on the groups servers. 3.8 EZR has this same problem. Also EZR has seems to be prone to locking up when trying to update the msnregcookie

oh, on group creation, I'll check that out. And ty for letting me know about EZR's msnregcookie update freezing up. I'll look at that also, but haven't run into it here personally. Does it freeze the whole mirc up, or just never gets the cookie?

Freezes entire mirc up. rest of my programming shouldn't be causing it bu i will look into that too.

never no problem with vincula...been using it 4 a long time. clearmsn is cool but im a vinc guy

Groups server changes. I had fixed it at one time, but I don't remember how.

just had the same problem.... ezr 3.8 .. started my script and it was trying to auto update sub info for the passport... then i updated the user role and tried to join my group and • %#-c not found (Lookup time: 0.125 seconds) plus a room, creation box popped up with %#-c .. then i updated my role again then it let me join... once i got in my group a min later this came up • Update Failed because it has exceeded its allowed time, or did not find the Info. (3450.354 seconds) ..but besides that it works great .. im going to uncheck the automatically update passport if older than. and see if that fixes it thinking it will. good work

p.s it doesnt freeze me up

• Opening Vincula lookup server connections...

• Updating the "[email protected]" Passport SubscriberInfo...

should make an on off option for this..cause the passport isnt a subscrption passport and it will keep showing this • Update Failed because it has exceeded its allowed time, or did not find the Info. (6061.714 seconds)...just a thought

good idea seph, I'll add that on off option into next ezr release, and hopefully fix that -c problem. ..so it only happens if you try to join a group room from the recent room list when you don't have passport updated?

yeah it only happend when i first got on this morning and tried it....i was thinking maybe when its trying to update the sub its interfering with user role or sumthin but i could be wrong like always

note for gwen:

i didn't work out the create room feature, i tryed and failed, inexperance in making connections i guess. Vex couldn't work out why it wouldn't work after i modded it because i based my mods on ClearMSN which is pretty close when you look at it.

I also fixed the problem where the window appears gray with nothing in it if you are running vincula in mIRC 6.16, so yea that will come with GD4.2, and i also put in a really cool featured based on vex's ClearMSN. User Role Manager, meaning you can hold more then 1 user role at a time. Of course it comes out with GD4.2 so yea, when i think its all ready, i'll release and drop you a rope.

the grey window has nothing to do with the version of mirc, it happens in all versions

Hi Gate Keeper, thanks for trying. and lol I was just working on a userrole manager here today! ..but didn't think to check out vex's first though, maybe I'll wait for yours and use that if you don't mind me doing so, that would free up a bit of extra time for me to finish up the ce control panel and get that done with.

seph, I added that on/off feature you suggested into ezr for auto updating passports on join, and made it so its more selective, and will only update subscriberinfo or userrole if that is an active part of your passport. ..will be out in the next ezr release.

gee i'm glad i could be of so much help to all these scripts that compete with clearmsn.
