GuarDDog v. 4.2 Released

I have released GuarDDog v. 4.2. It has more bug fixes, including the menu fix, also the away/return kicking now operating. Also I've made a more accurate subscriberinfo updater, and user role updater, meaning if it cannot find the passport info, it will tell you why it did/didn't get it. Also a user role manager has been added so users can store more then 1 user role, and have the correct one used for when they join group rooms. Very handy indeed. Also GuarDDog Updater has been fixed so that it now tells you when it is finished, and enables the "done" button when it is finished.

Anyways, this should be the last release for this year, till GuarDDog v. 5.0. Enjoy

Very nice work on GuarDDog! Just one problem I'm having with it, when I try to add a passport and then click the ok button it gives the following error message:

/writeini: insufficient parameters (line 2078, vincula.mrc)

you'll have to tell me where that error is on GuarDDog's vincula and not your own because there is no /writeini on 2078 in my vincula.

hey...Gwen.......when it does that just go ahead and go to the room u want GuarDDog v. 4.2 in.it should join just fine.....it says that at 1st,but it will join ya room anyways.

lol the voice does say welcome to guarddog 4.0 i didnt notice till much said something ... only problem i came across was i was using my addy for an entry name like i always do so i know what account im usin n stuff... but it wouldnt update or anything so i just put a nic for an entry name and it works fine .

for all those who are getting that 2078 error, trying not transfering the vincula folder from the SNRF folder because i think that is the problem. You are transfering the vincula file accross, overriding GuarDDog 4.2 vincula.

As for the 433 error, i don't see a problem with it. So unless you can check it again, and see if you can work it out, i'm not sure how to fix it.

It is with your vincula..not mine. I was using yours as I wanted to check out how your new userrole manager worked. It looks nice!

I'll try to switch folders like you said and see if that helps.

Hi Luke..I'll also try to join anyways, though when it gives me that error, it deletes all the passport details I filled in..so I don't think it will join a room.

I read your reply wrong, I skimmed it and thought you said TO MOVE the vincula folder out of the snrf folder. ...Of course, upon doing that, it wouldn't work at all, got the not connected error.

I didn't move any folders or do any changes to GuarDDog, just simply unzipped it and opened it up and tried to add a passport and recieved that /writeini: insufficient parameters (line 2078, vincula.mrc) error.

On a side note...upon filling in the 'nickname' area of the passport, it is now working correctly and updating my passport. I always leave that blank, and use msnregcookie instead...maybe leaving the nickname area blank is what caused that error?

ADD:

I did some testing and it turns out that if you DON"T fill in the nickname area on passport you get the /writeini: insufficient parameters (line 2078, vincula.mrc) error.

And if you DO fill in the nickname area on your passport you get a diferent error:

* Updating the "Gwen" passport, please wait...

yes it joins now, despite giving the error message :-) ty for the hint.

I dint have an vincula /write.ini problem till now with GD4.2.Gate you have to solve this make GD like any name folder my only suggesstion is this.Otherwise gd is excellent.Keep up the greatwork.

GuarDDog does work in any directory crypton. That is why it now comes in zip format.

3 errors ive found so far within 2 min operations

1) * String too long: $replace (line 252, guard..theme.mrc)

2) 0 Unknown command

3) Not auto create group chatroom on raw 702

string to long occurs when to many emoticons are used, i think i may know how to solve that problem, but its still only in my head.

not sure where the 0 error is occuring, so you may have to note it down and tell me when it is occuring

and the auto create room feature was stopped because vincula can't create rooms with guests anymore. GuarDDog v. 5.0 will have ClearMSN so that should hopefully have the create room feature.

for all those users who were having that error of /writeini when they left their nickname blank. I have used the GuarDDog Updater to fix that problem. I may use the updater to fix up the vincula to use MSN Reg Cookies, but i'm still un-certain of it all.
