I'm making a public version of DogCollar because quite a few have requested it, and also because there are so many versions of Vincula out that it's hard to pick a good one. Atleast with a public DogCollar, i can release it, and users will know that there will be only 1 type out there, and it will be made by me.

Basically to those that wish, please make suggestions for DogCollar here. These suggestions can be virtually anything from features to small code.

The only thing that i will not change is the socket names, i'm not going to be using the vincula ones because i want to keep most of what i can to an original format, and also to a format easy for GD5. When i make changes, i'll make them for the public version and for the GD5 version, this way both sides get the best i can offer.

So people, if you have any suggestions for DogCollar v. 1.0'pr, please make them here, and i'll see what i can do.

barebone :P

Yeah keep as is with GD5, people can always make addons.

Custom Computer

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 5200+

Asus M2N-SLI MOB

2GB DDR2 @ 800mhz

160GB Hard Drive

NVidia GeForce 8400GS 256

but the thing is, can people make addons for GD5? I know that i haven't written any tutorials, but i haven't seen many attempts yet at users making addons. I'm not really in it for the numbers, true, GD5 is still higher priority than DC public would be, but i with there being so many inactive connections, or so many modifications of Vincula, it's really confusing.

I'm not going to make a barebone connection. The only reason this idea has been put forward now, is because several have requested it. The idea is to keep both versions of DogCollar (the public one and the GD5 one), similar to eachother, so that any errors that occur, can be fixed on both the public and the GD5 one. Which is why it's not going to fully change.

As for Chat Guardian I tried every way I knew of to make it work with GD5, but I could never find a way to halt the default text GD5 uses short of editing the MTS theme itself that GD5 uses. So, there were always two texts showing up. The one GD5 uses, and Chat Guardians as well. Do you have any suggestions?

You can make internal stuff, but I do like barebone connections. But, if you do add stuff to it, don't make userlists with it. I never liked userlists buried into the code, cuz I normally create my own, with local, global etc etc. For people making addons, people will get used to how to do it. It's just like people had to get used to Vincula, with the sockets, understanding it etc. Thats really it, but, I would make a barebone one, and a non-barebone one.

arr naw, DC wont have protections in it at all. It will send out a signal, which users can use to make their own socket based protections, or use the normal method where they use mIRC's standard stuff. I'm not out to put in a stack of protections, it's just a straight connection with a few features. So yea, when i mean features, i mean features that you would expect in a connection, not in a script.

Make a mass join feature to on connect. I always liked those. Um...keep the find command :P Since Vinculas is "weak"

Glares at David

hmm, yea, i should work on a mass join thing. Yea, i wont be changing the findu feature anymore, did 1 update which just required people to turn the sever selections on, and everyone was like THEY DON'T WORK ANYMORE!!!.

Anything else?

Silent ban a possibility? <wo0t>

you mean silent kick? I'd need to talk with ozzy/err0r, see if they approve, but last i heard, they considered it a bit to, what's the word, abusive?

A silent ban really isnt abusive. Just a way to ban someone without having to cause the ruckus of a kick.

my suggestion is hurry up and release it :P

well i have no issue with silent bans persay.. i've used them. I wouldn't think it would be needed in a connection as any scripter should be able to add it if they want it.. but it's up to david to make the call.

It's the ruckus that I was hoping to avoid with a silent ban. Yes please...hurry up and release it <wo0t>

well i'd suggest 1 thing ( which i couldn' do myself )

wat abt full proxy support with a list of working proxies n ports

,, that would be the best thing ever happened in an msn connection !!~

How about some kinda detection system that will auto kick and permantly ban someone with Mexico listed as their Country in their profile.

gk the reason we were against the silent kicks is cause the only way to remove someone from a room is to flood them out and this gets abused by idiots who would download your script just to go round rooms and diss ppl, as it is possible to do the same without a hammer and diss the owners/hosts etc or even all the room

My code does NOT have bugs. It just develops random features.

Hey Ozzy is what your talking about the same as the wasup command in hybrid?

And I do not agree with silent bans either.

Why would you want to do that?

oh yeah a connection that uses proxies that would be really good for msn NOT!!!!!
