i would recommend using this tutorial. your dialogs do look a bit too cluttered. might be an idea to fill out the empty space on the left or omit the dialog completely. also, nicklists tend to fill the right-hand side - that might help to keep it looking a little less cluttered.

People are like slinkies; they're generally boring until you push them down stairs

compair GD5 to your script, mine is like not even effort :P

When you view GD5 normally, without anything extra open, it is just mIRC screens :P

Here it's "BotTalk":

Yes, i'd agree that it was your screen resolution that gave me the first impression. Looks much better like that, although the main dialog needs spacing out a bit. Good work :)

Yeah David, that's what I like about it. Looks very plain when nothing is launched, but once you open a dialog or join a channel, everything changes :P

Hi C-dryk™ Iam inclined to disagree with others its not clustered at all, my opinion only  its quite appealing and well sorted! And I have seen many french scripts seeing as iam part french from Montreal Quebec, I like the look of the dialogs keep it up. bien fait

Well people are unique, they like different things, neither of us are right nor wrong. Just our opinions.

yea very true. People like absorb and myself like having very little on our screens, to make it easy to get around for us, but for others, they like to have everything onfront of them, i guess it's very opinionated. But yea, as i said, i think your script would be alright if you got someone to translate it or something.

looks good C-dryk™ well done

First, just to clarify a thing about the design of the script: every single part of each dialog has been created to complete specific tasks. Most dialogs include help and documentation about concerned functionnalities, and blocks are placed in a quite logical way.

I'm not keen on traditionnal dialogs, my favorite style is more like "XP" and "Vista" and I'm trying to keep this spirit when designing my dialogs.

Angelia you are totally right for the left menu, this is more an aesthetic stuff for me, and it can be closed on demand. Concerning the main menu (on the right), I wanted to have every important commands in one place and that's the reason why it looks so "full".

Moreover, some users are used to work with menus, some with popups. I wanted to get a pretty good compromize, which make it a bit redundant but can be usefull to different kinds of users.

About the english translation, the problem is not to get someone to translate it in english, but it is just a question of time. As the screenshots you see are from a beta version of CCScript v2.1, the script needs again to be finalized before any translation work can be processed.

Finally, I agree with the fact that everyone is different and will organize its dialog differently depending on its tastes. Every advice is welcomed and is a good thing to take.

Thank you all for your feedbacks. These help me to work in a more constructive manner.

well I love it... wondering if this would be public release and when? or are we all SOL? lol

Nice work mate...

I know this screenshot isn't the best in the world, lol. However, this is a screenshot of the regular mirc nicklist which has been edited to show (Owner) beside all the owners, and (Host) beside all the hosts nicknames.

Nice one, Warrior. So you have actually edited mIRC itself?

Get the Tech outta here!

No, just the part in Vincula Rage where it has

if ($2 == 353) {

You can actually edit the regular mirc nicklist from the sockread.

Don't like the bold.. still a good idea though.

The bold is just the font I use for mirc. You can change the font to whatever you want it to be, well when I release it that is. Still have lots of things to do. So, it might be awhile yet.

Yeah.. thats good to know. Should attract alot of downloads, since most people may want that sort of nicklist. I certinally would.

if it actually makes the nicknames like that, i wouldn't think that it would be to good against a flood or so. But yea, it would be alright, i still like dialog designs better though.

Actually, it is awesome against floods. WhtTiger, and someone else helped me test it by flooding my testroom with guests, lol. I was still connected, even against a flood of 100 guests at a time. So, it does excellent against floods. :D
