Everyday commands

Commands are optional. Browse Rooms, Join Room, nickname menus and toolbar controls are usually easier for a new user.

IRCWX room-name form

A display name such as My Room can appear on the wire as:

%#My\bRoom

ircWx-Conn automatically converts friendly names in its public Join/Auto Join/Create Room flows. Use the raw form mainly when you are working directly with mIRC or debugging.

Private messages are different on IRCWX

Do not assume normal IRC /msg nick text is equivalent to an IRCWX room-scoped whisper. Use the nickname menu's Whisper (Private Message) feature.

Add-on developer commands

The public IRCWX API includes command aliases such as:

Normal mIRC commands

ircWx-Conn is still mIRC. Standard one-off commands and Remote scripting remain available. IRCWX-specific wrappers exist where the protocol needs different semantics or flood-aware automation.
